  • Usability:  Prepaid Vodafone Mobile Internet Users can access 5G services using the following 5G devices provided that their software updates are up-to-date. This list of devices will be updated as soon as device manufacturers release new 5G-ready software updates.

  • Auto-renewal: Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data plans subscribed from *555# and *181# are set to auto-renew after their expiry period. To un-subscribe from the 5G data plans, dial *555# or *181#, select the plan you are subscribed to and select Option 2 to "Un-subscribe".
  • Data rollover: Remaining data will rollover upon auto-renewal or re-subscription of any rollover Data Plan before expiry. The remaining data will roll over to the furthest data plan expiry.
  • Exclusions: Rollover and Auto-renewal do not apply to Vodafone Mobile Data Gift Plans.
  • 5G requirements: To use Vodafone Prepaid 5G Mobile Internet Services, you must have a 5G-capable smartphone updated with a special 5G software update, be in a 5G coverage area, have a 5G-enabled data plan, and ensure that the network mode on your device is set to 5G. Note: Power Saving features may restrict your phone from accessing 5G in order to conserve battery power. Disable Power Saver Mode to access 5G. Customers using a 4G smartphone or a 5G smartphone that has not received a special 5G software update from their device manufacturer, or live outside a 5G coverage area can purchase and use Giga5G data plans at 3G/4G speeds.
    • Special 5G software update: Some 5G smartphones are not 5G-Ready yet as they need a special software update to connect to 5G. These updates are released by smartphone manufacturers. Manufacturers are working to release these updates as quickly as possible. After manufacturers have released a special 5G software update patch, customers will be notified by SMS to update their software.
    • Validity: Promotion is valid until further notice.


    How are SMS deducted from the bundle?

    SMS is deducted in decrements of 1. Receiving SMS is free. 

     

    Is the plan set to auto-renew itself every day?

    There are 4 Daily Voda-Roam bundles which auto-renew everyday at 12:00 AM Fiji Time. If you wish to un-subscribe from the auto-renewal process you will need to manually un-subscribe either by using the MyVodafone App or by using *100# on USSD. 
    The Weekly and Monthly Voda-Roam bundles do not auto-renew. 

    How long is the subscription valid for?

    All benefits in the Daily Voda-Roam bundles expire at 12:00 AM Fiji Time. All benefits in the Weekly Voda-Roam bundle expires from 7 days from time of subscription; benefits in the Monthly Voda-Roam bundle expires 30 days from time of subscription. 
    There is no rollover of bundled benefits. 

    How do I opt out of the bundle?

    You can opt-out of the bundle whilst in the Roaming Country by using the MyVodafone App or by dialing *100# and selecting Option 2.

     

    Do I need to un-subscribe the plan when I arrive back to Fiji?

    No. The system will automatically un-subscribe your plan when you are back in Fiji. 

     

    What happens when I travel from a country listed in the bundle to a country not listed in the bundle [except for Fiji]?

    Your bundle will be deactivated when you are arrive and register to a network in another country. You will be charged the default rates. 

     

    1. What is 4G?

     

    4G is the 4th generation mobile communications technology and a successor to the 3G standards. It is also known as long term evolution (“LTE”) – a radio access technology to deliver very high speeds. It is the latest after 2G and 3G which gives you a faster and rich internet experience. With 4G, you can notice a visible difference while downloading files, doing video-chat, playing multiplayer games or while viewing HD videos online. 4G is capable of delivering an high speed mobile data connection for mobile devices like 4G smartphones, 4G broadband routers, 4G Pocket WiFis or 4G enabled tablets.

     

    2. What is the difference between GPRS, EDGE, 3G and 4G?

    a) GPRS: refers to a service on the 2G network that provides basic data up to 56kbps (similar to dial-up speeds)
    b) EDGE: It is a 2.5G technology. An enhancement of the 2G technology which provides higher data transfer rates compared to GPRS (the default on 2G). The speeds can go up to 144 Kbps
    c) 3G: 3G technology provides faster/higher data transfer rates compared to the 2G network (EDGE & GPRS).This technology theoretically can offer speeds up to 21 Mbps.
    d) 4G: This technology provides higher mobile data transfer rates than 3G. Theoretical data downlink speeds can go up to 100 Mbps.

    3. What can 4G do for me?

    4G can be used at home or your office or any other 4G coverage area for: 

    a) Wireless internet access
    b) Access rich content and multimedia applications eg: Movies, HD videos, e-learning, HD content and more
    c) Multiple downloads of heavy files, high definition multimedia content at the same time will be possible
    d) Higher uplink and downlink speeds
    e) Seamless online streaming
    f) High definition online gaming
    g) Access business applications that require higher speeds and last mile connectivity
    h) Face-2-Face video chat seamlessly

    4. What frequency does 4G use?

    Vodafone Fiji 4G Network uses the 1800 MHz frequency.

    5. Which areas is 4G available in?

    For now, 4G is available in most major towns and areas such as Suva, Nasinu, Lami, Navua, Coral Coast, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, Tailevu, Nausori, Savusavu, Labasa and Tavenui. Keep checking Vodafone’s website for latest updates on 4G coverage in other areas.

    6. What happens when I move outside 4G coverage area?

    When you move outside a 4G coverage area, your phone will seamlessly move to our 3G Network layer and you can continue using your phone. [For this to happen, your 4G device needs to be in auto network mode for seamless transfer across networks]

     

    7. Is 4G used for Voice, Data and Txt?

    For now, 4G is a data-only service. For Voice and SMS, you will be seamlessly switched to our 3G Network layer and you can continue to use your phone normally for voice and SMS
     

    8. What’s the difference between 3G and 4G?

    In a word - Speed. Vodafone 4G provides ultra fast speeds and this means that you can do more in less time. 4G provides up to 5 times faster speeds than 3G, making it suitable for all type of high speed applications and services.
     

    9. What are the typical speeds a 4G user can experience on Vodafone’s Network?

    The theoretical maximum download speeds are 100 Mbps, however typical download speeds will range from 2 to 20 Mbps, peaking up to 40 Mbps. On upload, a user can experience between 1 to 5 Mbps, peaking up to 10 Mbps. Having said that, speeds will vary depending on various factors such as device capability, number of users on the network, building infrastructure, radio environment conditions and servers from which the content is being accessed.
     

    10. How can I get 4G services activated?

    You need a 4G capable device. You need to be in 4G coverage area. You need to have a 4G-enabled sim card.
     

    11. Is 4G available to both Prepay & Postpay users?

    Yes, There are different plans for Prepay and Postpay users and it is available for both Mobile Internet and Mobile Broadband use.
     

    12. Does 4G cost extra?

    No. However, when things download faster, people tend to use more data.
     

    13. What is Data Angel?

    Data Angel is exclusive to Vodafone and is a tool that helps track usage. It helps keep you in control on how much you use and helps in controlling spend. Data Angel is currently available for Postpay Mobile Broadband plans only and will in future be made available on other plans. Now you can do all the things you love on the internet without the worry of accidently going over your data bundle. Data Angel keeps a watchful eye on your usage, and lets you know when the end of your bundle is in sight.

    14. What is the difference between 4G-ready and 4G-enabled devices?

    A 4G-ready device has 4G hardware and just requires a setting change or a software update from the manufacturer to enable it. A 4G-enabled device does not require any change to work on 4G.
