What are the requirements to use 5G on my Smartphone during the pilot phase of Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data Plans?

Most 5G-Capable Smartphones require a special software update from device manufacturers and may not be able to use 5G until the update has been released, downloaded and installed.

Effective from 11th October, 2025, a pilot programme of Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data Plans has been launched to a selected group of 5G-Ready customers located in 5G Coverage Zones.

To experience Vodafone Prepaid 5G Mobile Internet Services, you must first be selected to be a part of the pilot phase, be in a 5G coverage area, have a 5G-Ready device, have a 5G-enabled mobile data plan, and ensure that the network mode on your device is set to 5G.

Customers cannot sign up to be a part of the pilot programme to ensure a seamless customer experience. Customers will be selected by the product team based on a special criterion. Eligible Customers will be notified about their selection via an SMS message to confirm that they have been enrolled into the pilot programme.


What conditions need to be met to be able to use 5G on my Smartphone during the pilot phase?

You need to be selected by Vodafone based on a special criterion. If selected, you will be notified via SMS.

You need to Dial *555# and purchase a Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data plan.

You need to be within a 5G coverage zone.

Your smartphone should be 5G-ready (software is up-to-date and device can access 5G)

You must ensure that the network mode on your device is set to “5G Auto”, “5G preferred” or “5G/4G/3G”.

Note: Power Saving features may restrict your phone from accessing 5G in order to conserve battery power. Disable Power Saver Mode to access 5G.


How does Vodafone Fiji select customers to join the pilot phase of Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data Plans?

We have identified customers who live in a 5G coverage zone and have a 5G-Ready Smartphone whose software is up-to-date and capable of accessing our 5G network seamlessly. Over time, more customers will become eligible to use 5G on their Smartphone as soon as their device manufacturers release a special software update to enable 5G access. Eligible Customers will be notified about their selection via an SMS message if they meet all the required conditions to be a part of the pilot programme.


I live in a 5G coverage area but I have not been selected to join the pilot phase of Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data Plans. What can I do?

You will need to wait for your device’s special 5G software update and to be selected for the pilot programme. If you still wish to use 5G now, you may purchase and use a 5G Prepaid Broadband Pocket Wi-Fi or Router device in a 5G coverage zone from your nearest Vodafone store or roadshow location.


I have been selected to join the pilot programme. How do I buy a 5G-enabled mobile data plan?

Dial *555#, select Option 1 “Buy mobile internet plans”, and select “NEW 5G Plans” in order to view and buy Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data plans.


What are the Prepaid 5G Mobile Data Plans available to Vodafone Prepaid customers?

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Only specially selected customers are eligible to subscribe to Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data Plans during the pilot phase.
  2. Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data plans subscribed from *555# are set to auto-renew after their expiry period. To un-subscribe from the 5G data plans, dial *555#, select the plan you are subscribed to and select Option 2 to “Un-subscribe”.
  3. Remaining data will rollover upon auto-renewal or re-subscription of any rollover Data Plan before expiry. The remaining data will roll over to the furthest data plan expiry.
  4. Early access to Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data Plans is available to selected Prepaid Vodafone customers ONLY.
  5. To experience Vodafone Prepaid 5G Mobile Internet Services, you must first be selected to be a part of the pilot phase, be in a 5G coverage area, have a 5G-Ready device, have a 5G-enabled mobile data plan, and ensure that the network mode on your device is set to 5G.
