eTransport QR

1. What is eTransport QR?

eTransport QR is a way to pay your bus fare using your mobile phone through the eTransport App.

2. Who can use eTransport QR?

All bus travellers can use eTransport QR. Your eTransport QR is treated as a digital Red Card.

Student and Social Welfare concessions and subsidies do not apply to eTransport QR. QR payments are charged the standard fare applicable to the Government subsidy of 10%, while student and concession subsidies are only available through the applicable physical cards.

3. Do I still need my physical eTransport card?

You can use your eTransport QR, physical eTransport card, or both interchangeably, depending on whichever payment method is more convenient or available to you.

4. How do I pay with eTransport QR?

SCAN → CHECK → PAY → FLIP

  1. SCAN the QR code displayed on the Bus Terminal.
  2. CHECK the fare displayed.
  3. PAY by confirming the payment in the app.
  4. FLIP your phone and present the Receipt QR to the Bus Terminal.

The payment is complete once the Bus Terminal successfully scans your Receipt QR.

5. Can I skip the FLIP step?

6. Why do I have to scan a QR and then show another QR?

The two-step QR process allows you to complete your fare payment without an internet connection.

Yes. You can make eTransport QR payments offline as long as you have sufficient balance in your eTransport Wallet.

You can:

  • Make eTransport QR payments.

For customers using other mobile providers, data will be required to use the online features of the app.

12. How do I top up my eTransport Wallet?

You can top up your eTransport Wallet through the eTransport App using M-PAiSA or MyCash.

13. What is the difference between my eTransport Wallet and physical eTransport card balance?

14. How do I check that I'm paying the correct fare?

The fare is displayed on the Bus Terminal and in the eTransport App after scanning the QR.

15. What if I accidentally close the app before the FLIP?

You can re-open your Receipt QR from Wallet History → Show Receipt QR and present it to the Bus Terminal to complete the transaction.

The QR is valid for 10 minutes.

16. Why can't my phone scan the QR code on the Bus Terminal?

Try the following:

  • Hold your phone steady while scanning.
  • Reposition yourself if there is glare from a light reflecting on the terminal screen.

  • Make sure your camera screen is clean.

Check the following:

  • Increase your screen brightness.
  • The Receipt QR may have expired. It is only scannable within 10 minutes of payment.
  • The Receipt QR may have already been scanned successfully. It will not work more than once.
  • Make sure the QR code is positioned correctly in front of the camera on the Bus Terminal — not too close or too far.

Try to re-open the app, locate the QR in Wallet History and show the QR again.

18. What if the Bus Terminal says my QR code has already been processed?

If the message says “QR code already processed”, the Bus Terminal has already accepted your payment.
