  • Auto-renewal: Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data plans subscribed from *555# and *181# are set to auto-renew after their expiry period. To un-subscribe from the 5G data plans, dial *555# or *181#, select the plan you are subscribed to and select Option 2 to "Un-subscribe".
  • Data rollover: Remaining data will rollover upon auto-renewal or re-subscription of any rollover Data Plan before expiry. The remaining data will roll over to the furthest data plan expiry.
  • Exclusions: Rollover and Auto-renewal do not apply to Vodafone Mobile Data Gift Plans.
  • 5G requirements: To use Vodafone Prepaid 5G Mobile Internet Services, you must have a 5G-capable smartphone updated with a special 5G software update, be in a 5G coverage area, have a 5G-enabled data plan, and ensure that the network mode on your device is set to 5G. Note: Power Saving features may restrict your phone from accessing 5G in order to conserve battery power. Disable Power Saver Mode to access 5G. Customers using a 4G smartphone or a 5G smartphone that has not received a special 5G software update from their device manufacturer, or live outside a 5G coverage area can purchase and use Giga5G data plans at 3G/4G speeds.
    • Special 5G software update: Some 5G smartphones are not 5G-Ready yet as they need a special software update to connect to 5G. These updates are released by smartphone manufacturers. Manufacturers are working to release these updates as quickly as possible. After manufacturers have released a special 5G software update patch, customers will be notified by SMS to update their software.
    • Validity: Promotion is valid until further notice.

    I live in a 5G coverage area but I am not able to use 5G on my Smartphone. What can I do?

    You will need to wait for the release of your device’s special 5G software update. Some 5G smartphone are not 5G-Ready yet as they need a special software update to connect to 5G. These updates are released by smartphone manufacturers. Manufacturers are working to release these updates as quickly as possible. After manufacturers have released a special 5G software update patch, customers will be notified by SMS to update their software. If you still wish to use 5G now, you may purchase and use a 5G Prepaid Broadband Pocket Wi-Fi or Router device in a 5G coverage zone from your nearest Vodafone store or roadshow location.


    What conditions need to be met to be able to use 5G on my Smartphone?

    You need to Dial *555# and purchase a Vodafone Giga5G Mobile Data plan.

    You need to be within a 5G coverage zone.

    Your smartphone should be 5G-ready (software is up-to-date and device can access 5G)

    You must ensure that the network mode on your device is set to “5G Auto”, “5G preferred” or “5G/4G/3G”.

    Note: Power Saving features may restrict your phone from accessing 5G in order to conserve battery power. Disable Power Saver Mode to access 5G.


    What are the requirements to use 5G on my Smartphone?

    To experience Vodafone Prepaid 5G Mobile Internet Services, you must have a 5G-capable smartphone updated with a special 5G software update, be in a 5G coverage area, have a 5G-enabled data plan, and ensure that the network mode on your device is set to 5G.

    Some 5G-Capable Smartphones require a special software update from device manufacturers and may not be able to use 5G until the update has been released, downloaded and installed. These updates are released by smartphone manufacturers. Manufacturers are working to release these updates as quickly as possible. After manufacturers have released a special 5G software update patch, customers will be notified by SMS to update their software.


    Do the same terms and conditions apply as the existing FWA Plans?

    Yes. The contract period remains a minimum of 36 months, with the same installation, device, and service conditions. Please refer to the main 5G FWA Broadband FAQs for details on speeds, coverage, contracts, data top-ups, static IP eligibility, and all other standard terms

     

    Is there an extra cost for the Pocket Wi-Fi?

    No. The device is provided free of charge as part of your FWA Mobility Plan (valued at $549).

     

    Can the Pocket Wi-Fi be used outside my registered installation address?

    Yes. Unlike the fixed router that stays at your home or office, the Pocket Wi-Fi is portable and can be used anywhere within Vodafone’s 5G/4G coverage footprint. This makes it ideal for travelling, remote work, entertainment, or gaming on the go.

    How does the additional 5G Pocket Wi-Fi work?

    The 5G Pocket Wi-Fi comes pre-configured with a SIM linked to your FWA Mobility plan. You can take it anywhere across Fiji where Vodafone 5G/4G coverage is available and use it just like your home/office broadband. The data consumed on the Pocket Wi-Fi is drawn from the same total data bundle (1,000GB for Home Mobility / 2,000GB for Business Mobility).

     

    What is the 5G FWA Mobility Plan?

    The 5G FWA Mobility Plans (Home Mobility and Business Mobility) are an extension of our Fixed Wireless Access Broadband service. They include everything in the current FWA Home and Business plans (5G Outdoor CPE, indoor router, standard installation) plus an additional 5G Pocket Wi-Fi (RRP $549) with SIM that connects to the same plan and data bundle.

     

    How would 5G work with smart devices, accessories, IoT, etc?

    With greater capacity and reduced latency, smart devices and IoT will be able to transfer large data packets and respond in real-time thus ensuring a seamless user experience.



    How fast will be 5G broadband be?

    5G broadband delivers speeds from around 150 Mbps to over 1 Gbps, with uploads up to 50–150 Mbps and latency as low as 10–20 ms. This means faster downloads, smoother video calls, lag-free gaming, and a seamless experience with cloud tools.


    When will the 5G software update be available?

    This depends on your smartphone model. Updates are typically released within 3 to 6 months from the time when the Mobile Network Operator had been issued a 5G commercial license. For some devices, it may take up to 12 months.

    Terms and Conditions of Prepaid 5G Broadband Plans

    • Available to new and existing Prepaid Vodafone Broadband users.
    • Recharge can be done using Electronic Vouchers, MyVodafone App, M-PAiSA, Web Top-Ups, BSP and Westpac Mobile Banking, BSP and ANZ ATMs or TXT Top Up Fiji-wide.
    • AnyUse Data can be used to access any website or application.
    • Streaming Data can only be used to access Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
    • Subscription to access Netflix and Amazon Prime Video content is not included in this data package.
    • Accessing Netflix and Amazon Prime Video Streaming Data requires a positive AnyUse data balance.
    • Content such as ads, authentication and app analytics are excluded and will be deducted from any normal data balance you have.
    • Netflix and Amazon Prime Video Data supports Android, iOS and Web-based Netflix + Amazon Prime Video content.
    • Netflix and Amazon Prime Video Applications and device Operating System must be updated to the latest version.
    • Netflix and Amazon Prime Video Data may not be compatible with other OS platforms subject to OS updates supplied by the manufacturer.

    Is 5G safe? Are there any health concerns related to 5G ?

    Mobile technology is highly regulated and operates within strict guidelines set by regulated independent bodies internationally.

    5G like other wireless technology (2G/3G/4G) uses radio waves which have been used for mobile and Wi-Fi networks for decades. These have been tested by independent bodies such as World Health Organization (WHO) & International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radio Protection (ICNIRP) and there has been no evidence of harmful effects of 5G or other mobile radio waves to humans.

    5G is safe to use.


    How would 5G work with smart devices, accessories, IoT, etc ?
