Suva, Fiji, January 5, 2026

In a significant move to enhance financial accessibility across the country, Post Fiji has officially rejoined the M-PAISA agent network. This partnership comes at a critical time, providing a vital lifeline for families in rural and maritime areas as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

The timing of this reinstatement is strategically aligned with the government’s Back-to-School payout, which is expected to commence on January 16th. The availability of M-PAiSA services at Post Fiji locations ensures that parents and guardians in remote regions can conveniently access these funds provided by government to prepare for reopening of the schools. Parents can also purchase school stationaries, bags, uniforms etc for their children’s schooling needs and make cashless payment using M-PAiSA QR at all Post fiji outlets.

The CEO of Post Fiji, Mr Isaac Mo said,” Post Fiji provides extensive network of physical outlet infrastructure that bridges the service gap between urban financial hubs and remote communities. By leveraging this existing footprint, seamless cash-in and cash-out services as well as cashless payments through M-PAiSA QR can be made where they are needed most”.

Mr. Shailendra Prasad, General Manager of Digital Financial Services (DFS), expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. "We welcome back in the fold Post Fiji as M-PAISA agents. Post Fiji is strategically positioned for rural and maritime outreach and has the capacity and trained personnel to provide professional services. This will assist in extending M-PAISA services in hard-to-reach places where Post Fiji is present."

The major benefit is significant savings in travel time and cost with M-PAISA services available at their local post office. Post Fiji staff are fully equipped and trained to handle digital financial transactions securely and efficiently.

This partnership reaffirms the commitment of both M-PAISA and Post Fiji to fostering financial inclusion and supporting the economic well-being of all Fijians, regardless of their geographical location.

It also opens opportunities for social welfare beneficiaries who may opt to receive their monthly allowance via M-PAISA to now be able to withdraw their money at Post Fiji outlets throughout Fiji. Thousands to rural M-PAISA users who also receive cross border remittances from families abroad will also be able to access full suite for M-PAISA services at Post Fiji outlets.
