Frequently Asked Questions - V-App Store
 
1) What is the V-App Store? 

The V- App Store is a one stop local shop for all Vodafone Mobile (2G/3G/4G) customers to purchase, download and subscribe to applications and games for use on their handsets. The application types can vary from simple SMS , USSD apps, to more interactive downloadable apps available for Android.

2) Is the V-App Store available for all Vodafone customers? 

The Vodafone App Store is available all Vodafone Prepaid &Postpaid Customers using 2G/3G/4G on their phone.

3) Can iPhone, Windows Phone, Blackberry and Symbian user download apps from the V-App Store ?

No, only android apps are available for download, iPhone, Windows Phone, Blackberry and Symbian users can use the WAP, Web version (https://apps.vodafone.com.fj) to subscribe to SMS apps. * Refer to Question 9 for more details

4) How can I access the V-App Store? 
 
V-App Store can be accessed in the following ways :

5)  Do I need to register to use the V-App Store ?

Using Web:
If you are using the web version of the store, customers need to follow  this link https://apps.vodafone.com.fj and click on the register button below "To create a User Account" and register the details. Once registered, customers can sign in and use the store.
 
Using Vodafone Mobile Internet Data Plan:
If you are browsing the store via mobile  or the android version of the store, the store will automatically sign in customers without the need to register or enter the sign in credentials manually. The store will pick up the number with active data session used in the handset and sign in automatically.
 
* Please note auto login will not work for data numbers.

6) How can I download an application from V-App Store ?

You can follow these simple steps to use the V-App Store: 
 
Using Web: 
a) Go on the V-App Store Web homepage (https://apps.vodafone.com.fj) 
b) Click on the Sign In Button on the top right corner of the page and use your credentials to sign in.
c) Once you are successfully logged in, you will be redirected to V-App Store homepage.
d) Select an application of your choice and you will be presented with a detailed description of the application along with pricing details. 
e) Click on the download button and depending on the charging model (Free/Paid) you will be prompted. 
Free : Once you click  "Download", you will receive a push message with the download link.
Paid :  Once you click "Download", you will be prompted to select  a payment method (Mobile Purchase Credit/ M-PAiSA). Once you select the preferred payment method, you will receive a push message with the download link.
f) Once you receive the push message, open the link to start the download.
g) Once the download is complete, click on the complete download notification and click on install to proceed.
h) You will be notified to open the application, once the installation is complete.
 
Using Android:
a. Open the android version of the store by clicking on this icon:V-APP-small-icon-(1).jpg  
b. You will be automatically signed in, if you are on Vodafone Mobile Internet Plan. If  you are using a WiFi connection to access the store, you will be required to enter credentials to sign in.
c. Once you are successfully logged in, you will be redirected to V-App Store home tab.
d. Select an application of your choice and you will be presented with a detailed description of the application along with pricing details. 
e. Tap on the download button and depending on the charging model (Free/Paid) you will be prompted. 
Free : Once you tap  "Download", the download will start automatically
Paid:  Once you tap "Download", you will be prompted to select  a payment method (Mobile Purchase  Credit/ M-PAiSA). Once you select the preferred payment method, the download will start automatically
f. Once the download is complete, tap on the complete download notification and click on install to proceed.
i. Refer to question 6 if you get a security notification.
g. You will be notified to open the application, once the installation is complete.
 
Using WAP:
a. Go on the V-App Store Web homepage (https://apps.vodafone.com.fj) on your mobile to access the WAP version of the store.
b. You will be automatically signed in, if you are on Vodafone Mobile Internet Plan. If  you are using a WiFi connection to access the store, you will be required to enter credentials to sign in.
c. Once you are successfully logged in, you will be redirected to V-App Store homepage.
d. Select an application of your choice and you will be presented with a detailed description of the application along with pricing details. 
e. Click on the download button and depending on the charging model (Free/Paid) you will be prompted. 
        Free : Once you click  "Download", the download will start automatically
 Paid:  Once you click "Download", you will be prompted to select  a payment method (Mobile Purchase  Credit/ M-PAiSA). Once you select the preferred payment method, the download will start automatically
f. Once the download is complete, click on the complete download notification and click on install to proceed.
g. You will be notified to open the application, once the installation is complete.

7) What if I get the following security notification when trying to install the application:

" For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from Google Play"
 
Go to settings:
a) Tap on "Security "
b) Under security, you will find " Unknown sources", check the box to allow installation of apps from other sources and tap "OK"

8) Are all the apps downloaded from V-App Store safe to download ?

Yes, the apps are tested and verified before they are published in V-App Store

9) Does the download link have a limit on the download attempts and expiry ?

Yes, the link is limited to 2 download attempts only and has a expiry of 24 hours.

10) How do I subscribe to a SMS app and how many updates will I receive?

SMS:
To  subscribe to a SMS application type REG "keyword" (e.g. Soccer) and SEND the SMS to 667.
 
Using Web:

c) Once you are successfully logged in, you will be redirected to V-App Store homepage.

e. Click on the subscribe button and depending on the charging model (Free/Paid) you will be prompted. 
           Free : Once you cliclk "Subscribe", you will receive the confirmation to the subscription
           Paid:  Once you click "Subscribe", you will be prompted to select  a payment method (Mobile Purchase Credit/ M-PAiSA). Once you select the
           preferred payment method, will receive the confirmation to the subscription
 
 
Using WAP:
a. Go on the V-App Store Web homepage (https://apps.vodafone.com.fj) on your mobile to access the WAP version of the store.

c. Once you are successfully logged in, you will be redirected to V-App Store home tab.
d. Select the SMS application of you want to subscribe and you will be presented with a detailed description of the application along with pricing details. 
e. Tap on the subscribe button and depending on the charging model (Free/Paid) you will be prompted. 
           Free : Once you tap "Subscribe", you will receive the confirmation to the subscription
           Paid:  Once you tap "Subscribe", you will be prompted to select  a payment method (Mobile Purchase Credit/ M-PAiSA). Once you select the
           preferred payment method, will receive the confirmation to the subscription

You will receive maximum of 2 updates per day charged @18cents per update once you are subscribed to your preferred SMS app 

11) Will the applications listed on the V-App Store be compatible to my phone? 

SMS/USSD applications will be compatible with any handset type, make and model. Downloadable applications will be only compatible to specific handset. Android application will only work with specified android version handset.

12) What are the browsing & downloading charges for Apps from the V-App Store? 

For all Apps & Games (FREE & Paid) you will be charged standard browsing charges as per your data plan. In addition to browsing charges, you will be charged as per the App / Game price mentioned alongside the respective app/game. All the FREE apps/games however come at 0 download cost (only browsing charges apply).

13) Where can I find a list of my previously subscribed/downloaded Apps?

To see your previously downloaded/subscribed Apps,  you can click on the My Apps section (you need to be signed in ) and view the complete list. You can also go in the Subscribed section of My Apps and unsubscribe from currently subscribed SMS apps.

14) Can I use the V-App Store while I’m in roaming (international)?

Yes you can use and download from the Vodafone App Store while you are in roaming internationally. We recommend you to please check the roaming charges to access data services.

15) Where is the App/Game downloaded from the V-App Store saved on my phone?

This is a handset Feature. Some handsets may prompt you to define where you would want the application to 
be saved. In case you have already made some settings the application may download itself on to the preferred location in your Handset.

16) How do I uninstall an app/game downloaded from the V-App Store from my handset?

If you’ve installed an app on your handset using V-App Store that you no longer want, you can uninstall it by following these steps:
 
1. Visit your device's Settings menu > Apps or Application manager (this may differ depending on your device).
2. Touch the app you’d like to uninstall.
3. Select Uninstall.

17) What if my download gets interrupted while downloading an app/game from the V-App Store? 

If your download gets interrupted  you can try re-downloading the App again Alternatively, you can also check your network connectivity and try again. 

18) What if I get errors while trying to download/subscribe apps from the V-App Store? 
You should do some basic checks would need to be done to ensure that your handset is capable to download the applications. 
 
• Check that you have sufficient balance
• Check that you have enabled data and enough data on your handset before downloading applications
• To check that there is enough memory on your handset. 
• Time and date should be correctly configured. 
• Clear the cache on your handset as per the instructions given in the handset manual.
