1.What is Webbox?

Webbox is a product that Vodafone offers which allows you to use your TV to access the Internet. Vodafone Webbox is a convenient, plug-n-play keyboard with a built-in 3G modem and memory card that simply plugs into your television, turning your TV into a computer screen. Supported by the open source Android 2.1 platform and the Vodafone Opera Mini Browser, the Vodafone Webbox also has the added features of a video player, FM radio and picture viewer.

2.What else can I do with this product?
Internet Browsing

Using the internet browser is very cost effective due to the fact that data is compressed by up to 90%. (A feature of the android 2.1 system the webbox runs on)
Email – the user can set up an existing email account on the device to receive and compose mail directly using the email feature.
Note: Like the settings for Mobile Office or Microsoft Outlook – the outgoing server needs to be changed “smtpg.vodafone.com.fj” The user is not restricted to one email – they can setup multiple email accounts and receive mail through the inbox under the email feature.
Media (FM radio, music, videos, and photos)
FM radio is not limited to the number of stations you can program on the device. The antenna is located on the bottom left of the webbox (inside the device cover).
Music, videos and photos - these forms of media can be accessed and played from the SD card if mounted into the webbox.
Preinstalled applications and games 
Webbox comes with multiple preinstalled applications – including games, trivia, notepad, docs to go (which allows the user to open, create and edit Microsoft documents). The user can also find settings and “My Vodafone” feature under Applications (enhancing the users ease of access). Note: “My Vodafone” features can be found under the SIM applications icon.

3.What does a customer need to use this product?
A television
set that has RCA connections (white, red and yellow connectors)

Vodafone Data SIM - Any Vodafone Data SIM card will work on the device, however Webbox comes with it own Prepay SIM card that is specifically designed for Webbox. Any Webbox promotions or deals will most likely apply to the Webbox with the original Sim Card.
A microSD card – memory card of 2GB is included with this device.
The Webbox supports up to 16 GB. This is important to note as recent android phones are able to support 32GB SD cards.
A compatible television set – if a VCD or DVD player can connect to the TV then so can the Webbox.

4.What will a customer need to do in order to start using the device?
Insert SIM, battery, MicroSD card then switch the device on

The prepay APN is preset on the device so no extra settings is required. This is literally a plug-n-play device.
In the event you want to use a different Data SIM you need to create a New Internet Profile
Please note the location of the APN settings is as follows:
Go to Settings >More Settings > Mobile Networks > APN > Press Menu button > Select New APN
Name - Webbox
APN - webbox.fj for prepay
APN - vfinternet.fj for postpay
Press the Menu button then select SAVE

Creating a new Internet Profile
Name = Give it an appropriate name
APN = webbox.fj for prepay or vfinternet.fj for postpaid
The rest leave it as <Not set>
Press Menu key > Save
There after select the profile ofyour choice

Press the HOME button on device > Go to Internet on the Main Menu >

Select Open internet browser > Accept terms & conditions and you will be good to go. On the Internet option – the user has to option to turn the internet off/on. This is a good feature to keep in mind when trying to prevent data being transferred in the background.

As you can see on the main menu above ( Home Screen), the visible tabs are:
Internet – Browse the internet, recharge account or turn the internet off/on
Messages – send SMS, MMS, email or setup an existing email account.
Media – play music, watch videos or view pictures available on the SD card memory.
Applications – view and use the preinstalled applications.
Search – allows the user to enter a search criteria which is powered by Google. Once the user clicks for the search results – the browser opens with Google search results.
Settings – provides the settings for the Webbox.

5. How much will the Vodafone Webbox cost?
The Webbox will be available at all participating Vodafone retail outlets and selected authorized dealer outlets and will be priced at $199.00 including VAT. The offer includes a 2GB SD Card, a Prepaid SIM card and 500MB data which expires in 30days.

6. $6 Recharge will give you 120MB, Want to know how much data of 120MB will give you?

• 2400 Searches on Amazon+ or
• 500 Facebook pages browses + or
• 600 eBay checks on bids

7. How can I recharge my Webbox account?
You can recharge your Prepaid Webbox Connection using the same process as topping up your mobile phone. The different channels are listed below:
A. Through purchase of any of the normal recharge cards
B. Through Epay or PayEcom
C. Through Smart-Dial
D. Through M-PAiSA
E. Through Vodafone Web Site Web Top up – www.vodafone.com.fj/webtopup

• Customers cannot recharge less than $6 or more than $100 in a single transaction.
• Credit transfer does not apply for Webbox recharge.

A. Normal Recharge Pins

1. All you have to do is go to any of the retailers who have hard card voucher top up and ask for any of the above recharge denomination.
2. Scratch the security coating and expose the pin
3. Connect your Webbox and Start it up
4. Select the “Messages” icon and select SMS section.
5. Create a new SMS message and insert the recharge Pin number and send it to 132
6. You’re done, you will receive confirmation message that your account has been toped up.

B. Epay or PayEcom
1. All you have to do is go to any of the retailers who have the facility for electronic voucher top up and ask for the recharge denomination that you wish to recharge with
2. You will receive a voucher and the pin from the retailer
3. Connect your Webbox and Start it up
4. Select the “Messages” icon and select SMS section.
5. Create a new SMS message and insert the recharge Pin number and send it to 132
6. You’re done, you will receive confirmation message that your account has been toped up.

C. Use the “Top up Credit” tab on the Webbox
1. All you have to do is go to any of the retailers who have hard card voucher top up and ask for any of the above recharge denomination.
2. Scratch the security coating and expose the pin
3. Connect your Webbox and Start it up
4. Go to Top up Credit > enter *132*xxxxxxxxxxxx# (where x is the Recharge Pin number).
5. Select “Send”
6. You’re done, you will receive confirmation message that your account has been toped up.

D. Top up Through Smart Dial using M-PAiSA
1. To be able to use this recharge option you need to be a registered customer for M-PAiSA.
2. You should have enough balance on M-PAiSA account
3. To get a Pin sent to your phone
a. Dial *181#
b. Navigate to Option 3 – Buy Recharge
c. Navigate to Option 2 – Other Phone
d. You will be requested to enter your secret pin (This is the pin that you must have provided during M-PAiSA registration for your account, if you have forgotten this pin you can contact our
customer care)
e. Once you secret pin has been accepted the system will prompt you to enter the $ amount that you wish to top up
f. You’ll be asked to insert the “Prepay Data Mobile Number” This would be the number allocated to your Webbox device.
g. Confirm by inserting Yes/Noh. Your request will be processed and you will be advised via TXT message on the top up status
i. Your Webbox device will be directly topped up. Please ensure that the Webbox is powered up at this time
j. You are done

8. How can I check my balance Webbox account?
1. You can select the “Messages” Icon and Compose a new message and “Send” a message to 131 (ensure you type something in the body of the message so that the send button will be activated)
2. You can also got to “Top up Credit” in the main menu, type *131# and select “Send” button, you will receive SMS message

Good to know:
• The Webbox runs on both GPRS and 3G network
• The Webbox uses the Opera Mini Browser – the same browser used on mobile phones (supports the data compression)
• QWERTY keyboard for easy typing.
• The Webbox does not support WIFI.
• The Webbox is not used with a mouse. Instead navigation keys are available on the keyboard – the navigation is 8 directional but is also application dependent.
• The screen resolution is HVGA – 480*320 which explains why the clarity of pictures and videos are not excellent.
• The user cannot install new programs onto the device and Skype is not a preinstalled application.
