Vodafone answers call from Fiji Open

Vodafone continues its support of golf in Fiji with the announcement that it is the naming sponsor of this year’s Vodafone Fiji Open Golf Championship to be played at Natadola Bay Golf Course on the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

 
Steeped in history since its inception in 1970 the Fiji Open is the premier golf event on the Fiji golfing calendar and this year will again attract both local and international Amateur and Professional golfers.
 
In excess of 120 players will compete for the Vodafone Fiji Open Championship Rose Bowl, while at stake for professionals is a prize pool of $60,000 and an invitation to play in the Panasonic Open in Japan later in the year.

“We have had a proud and rewarding partnership with National Golf Association of Fiji over the last 4 years. During this period, Fiji Golf has reached many milestones including very good international outings. Based on last year’s results Natadola Bay Golf Course will no doubt again provide a challenge for all the golfers. We look forward to this year’s Vodafone Open,” said Vodafone’s Managing Director Aslam Khan.
 
“Vodafone is a great supporter of sport in this Country and we are delighted with their continued support of golf and assistance in staging Fiji’s premier golf event.” Said National Golf Association President Isimeli Bainimara.
 
Bainimara added: “Natadola Bay is truly a world class golf course that is gaining a fantastic reputation internationally. Because of this reputation interest in the event has been very strong and we are predicting a record field this year in both size and quality.”
