Vodafones Launches Prepay Flashnet

1 October, 2009

Vodafone has launched its very popular wireless mobile broadband services known as Flashnet under the prepaid plan.  Prepay users will now be able to access wireless mobile broadband on Vodafone’s super fast new generation 3G network that was previously available only through post pay.

“The prepaid Flashnet opens the opportunity to more than 400.000 prepaid Vodafone customers from Suva to Rakiraki to connect to super fast internet on wireless mobile broadband”, said Ms Avanthi Senaratne Chief Marketing Office of Vodafone Fiji. For the first time wireless mobile broadband is being made available to such a large segment of population on a prepaid plan.  We are really excited about the launch of this product.  We have already received a huge response from customers wanting to take up prepaid Flashnet.

A University of Fiji student, Mr Amit Kumar was thrilled to receive the news of prepaid Flashnet. “This is good news for students like me. We normally get a lot of assignments that require online research work. Prepay Flashnet makes life so easy for us, students. I can connect the flashnet to my laptop and access internet just about anywhere and anytime.  It is so easy and provides downloads at great speeds. Another Vodafone prepay user, who exports vegetables to Australia and New Zealand said, “I have waiting for prepay flashnet for a sometime”.  I receive and send my shipping documents using the net. Other than that, I don’t use the internet so much.  This is perfect plan for me.  I only pay for what I use”, said Mr. Ashish Singh owner of Fresh Exports Limited.

Prepay Flashnet Data SIM's are pre activated, meaning there is no requirement to go through all the paper work. All Prepay Data SIM's will be loaded with $5 credit for the first two months of launch as a promotional offer. Prepay Flashnet devices are available for a one off cost of $249 at any Vodafone Retail outlet and selected dealers. The device is also available on easy credit terms from Courts Homecentres and MH’s.  Ongoing recharge of the prepay flashnet can be done with purchase of prepay vouchers worth $15 which comes with 300 MB of data downloads and 30 day expiry.

For customers using the prepay flashnet, there are 3 ways to recharge; through Epay or PayEcom – Prepay Mobile Broadband Voucher, Smart Dial Menu through existing Prepay phone and Vodafone’s web top up service – www.vodafone.com.fj/webtopup
