Vodafone Launches Prepaid Mobile Internet

Vodafone Fiji has launched its much awaited prepaid mobile internet services to the market this week. The prepaid internet services will allow more than 600,000 prepaid Vodafone users to access internet on their mobile phones for the first time. Until now, internet was only available through Vodafone’s post pay plan on contract with the Blackberry or flashnet - Vodafone’s 3G mobile broadband services.

“The launch of our prepaid mobile internet is exciting news for majority of our customers 90% of who are on prepaid plans”, said Mr. Pradeep Lal, Acting MD of Vodafone Fiji.  With prepaid internet accessible over mobile phones we now provide wireless internet service without contract, monthly subscription or activation fee. All a subscriber needs is a web enabled phone and normal credit on their mobiles to access internet anywhere, anytime at their convenience.

"Forget the long-term contracts, monthly bills or desperately seeking a local internet coffee shop to access internet. Prepaid internet provides total flexibility and complete independence to users.  Prepaid mobile is ideal for students, families on the go, freelancers, anyone who needs wireless Internet access...and wants to pay only when they use it," said the CMO of Vodafone Fiji. "We've already demonstrated over the years the benefit of no annual contracts and the ability to tailor spending to individual needs through our prepaid mobile phone service.

With prepay mobile access to internet; our savvy youngsters can be in touch on all social media and blog sites in an instant.  Hunting for internet cafés to update your online status will soon be a thing of the past.

Prepaid mobile internet is another way to give consumers value, flexibility and convenience and total independence." Internet on mobile allows total freedom to subscribers to visit any site of their choice.  Charges for accessing different sites vary with some sites such v-live available free and others available at a discount. Standard charge is less ½ cent per Kilo Byte which is great value for money in any market.

Vodafone will continue to offer internet on contract through mobile broadband and blackberry for those who wish to have continuous access to internet and pay once a month.
