Vodafone Super Six Competition to benefit less privileged children

Vodafone Fiji is taking another major initiative in assisting the less privileged in society by teaming up with Fiji National Rugby League. Vodafone through their $500,000 three years sponsorship is funding this year Super Six Rugby League Competition. The Super Six competition will be held over the period of six weeks with first series of games starting at the Vodafone Prince Charles Park and at the Post Fiji Stadium this Friday night. Every dollar out of every ticket sold will go towards the needy. The proceeds from the first games will go to the children of Vatukoula. The Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone, Avanthi Senaratne, said that they are saddened with the plight and suffering of the people of Vatukoula and urges rugby league fans to turn up in big numbers. She said while people will enjoy the games they will also be assisting the needy people amongst us... Proceeds from other games will go to Treasure House in Ba and Dilkusha Homes in Nausori.

There are six teams competing,
1. Nausori Bulls - made of players from Makoi Bulldogs and Korovou Raiders
2. Nasinu Tigers - made up of players from Nadera Panthers and Nausori Rabbitohs
3. Suva Blues - made up of players from City Storm and Nabua Broncos
4. Warwick Saints - players from Mango Bay Cowboys
5. Jetset Nadi - made up of players from Saru Dragon and NZPTC Roosters
6. Lautoka Warriors -made of players from Lautoka Crushers and Nadi Eels

Ms. Senaratne also said that this weekend Vodafone is sponsoring a major charity golf event in Denarau and the funds raised will go towards the Hilton School to cater for its program.

Vodafone is the major sponsor of Fiji Bati, South Pacific Bowling Carnival and the National Golf Association and has so far in last 13 years invested more than $5million in sports alone and its development in Fiji.

By the naming right sponsorship of Prince Charles Park in Nadi Town and Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori Town this partnership will go towards the maintenance of the parks and ensuring that world class grounds are available for the public of Fiji to utilize also through their partnership with Fiji Sports Council on the Vodafone Arena, this have allowed school children to use the Arena during school hours free of charge.
