Add 3 more to your FamilyFone group, access cheaper calls
30 March, 2005
Vodafone Fiji has made it even easier for Vodafone Prepay customers to stay in touch with family and friends.
From April 11, customers can increase the number of family and friends in their private FamilyFone group to 8, allowing three more people to enjoy the benefits of FamilyFone.
Previously only 5 people were allowed in any group, but the installation of new technology means Vodafone can extend the number of people in the group.
An additional benefit is that one of the telephone numbers in the group can now be a Telecom landline number.
This means that anyone in a group can call their group members, including their nominated landline at the special discounted rate of 35c/unit peak and 7c/unit off-peak. One unit is 30 seconds.
"We're doing our best to pass on additional benefits and cheaper calls to customers as and when technology allows," says Vodafone Fiji customer care executive Che Burnett.
"We're hoping this enables more family members and friends to take advantage of the mobile phone's ability to facilitate convenience, safety and security and other value-added features," Burnett said.
How does Familyfone work? All you have to do is call Vodafone Fiji on 123 or visit any of their stores Fiji-wide and pass on information about your new group or any additional members you want in your group and the group or new members phones will be activated within 48 hours,.
Anyone in the group can take advantage of discounted rates when calling within the group. Normal tariffs will apply if you call outside the group. The Telecom line cannot be used to call others in the FamilyFone group at Vodafone's special discounted rates.
Vodafone is also addressing Prepay customer's password concerns based on customer feedback.
All Vodafone Fiji Prepay customers can now activate an optional personal password, thus providing additional security for themselves and to help customers access their account when they need to.
Any Vodafone Prepay customer can call 123, prove that they are the owner of a number, and have their prepay password updated immediately.
