In an initiative that could be termed futuristic and path breaking, Vodafone Fiji and BSP Life have teamed up to make insurance premium payment more convenient and cost effective for its clients through “Mobile Premium Pay”. All BSP insurance policy holders are now able to pay their insurance premiums from anywhere anytime using M-PAiSA.
BSP Life has been in existence in Fiji for a number of years and is a trusted insurance provider to many. Vodafone is Fiji’s largest mobile network operator and with over 700,000 registered users. “By partnering with Vodafone, we are not only making insurance premium payment more convenient for our existing clients, it opens up a whole new opportunity to tap into previously inaccessible customer base using the technology of the day”, said Marketing Manager for BSP Life, Ms Fanny Tam-Corrie,
M-PAiSA offers a convenient, secure and real time payment mode with all payment details made available to BSP Life on a real time basis. This unique home grown package greatly enhances the use of mobile technology and contributes significantly for greater financial inclusion.
BSP is looking at using this facility to develop more innovative insurance products particularly in the micro insurance sector. This will offer opportunities to many vulnerable members of the community to take up insurance cover who previously could not afford to because of the cost of making insurance premium payments. M-PAiSA Mobile Premium Pay comes free of charge to the customer and is a value addition to both BSP and Vodafone customers. Insurance can offer great security and peace of mind in times of emergencies and crisis. The recent flood in the West is a good example where insurance cover can be of immense benefit to the members of the community.
Through this facility, it is now possible for BSP customers living in remote rural areas and outer islands to pay their premiums using the mobile M-PAiSA with greater ease. In future the facility can be extended to also settle insurance claims.
