The World of Difference programme being launched is global in scope and local in focus. Globally total of more than 700 world of difference candidates are making difference in 18 Vodafone Foundations. The WoD Programme is all about finding 36 passionate people who want to help charities for a year, and get paid to do it in Fiji. A maximum $10,000 total expense allowance will be paid to cover necessary personal expenses of the successful applicant ensuring their welfare in connection with the completion of the tasks for which they have been employed (“Expenses”), ensuring capacity building.
The world of difference programme funds will be used to ‘tie talent’ into the third sector, proving significant enhancement to the charitable investment. This is to empower those people to take opportunities that they wouldn’t normally be able to do so with personal funding. World of Difference allows anyone between the age of 18-45 to bring their talent and passion to a charity.
The candidates’ selection is in two folds; short term attachment for a period of 4 months to long terms assignment upto a year. The duration determines the programme assignment where possible to enhance the main flagship longer placements. The funds are available for both employees and candidates from the wider community to execute social and economic development activities in all thematic areas addressing the burning issues and concerns in Fiji.

The candidates will be required to submit the completed Application Forms or pick from Vodafone ATH Headquarter @168 Princes Road Tamavua and Vodafone Retail outlets). The completed application forms to accompany copy of brief CV on the qualification, work and community experience. The potential applicants are also to provide a recent photograph and reference from at least one charity organization. Criteria for application checklist also need to be completed. Incomplete application forms will not be accepted.

Enabling ideas to make a World of Difference - Vodafone’s new initiative to push for creativity and achievement
Vodafone is readying to launch its most important social project to date: the World of Difference programme in which individuals will be selected to execute their own charitable projects in Fiji for a year, and be paid to do so by Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation.
The World of Difference inauguration will be done on 27 April 2010 by Mr. Russell Hewitt, Vodafone Fiji Board of Director at 168 Princes Road. A call for expression of interest from interested individuals in the 20-45 age bracket will be made shortly after.
The World of Difference is a global flagship programme with local roots increasing appreciation of creative ideas and achievements and currently operating in 18 countries across the globe. It is a social investment that is targeted at creative research and programmes that can help to provide replicable solutions to some of the most pressing problems in society. The solutions must have the potential to make a world of difference for all people in Fiji and be high-impact, measurable, and sustainable beyond the lifetime of the initiative.

Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation will call for applications from passionate people who wish to work short-term and long-term in a capacity building role with a charitable civil society organisation with all expenses and a salary paid. The programme’s particular focus will be to enhance organisation effectiveness with a particular focus on building social leadership in youths and communities.
The World of Difference programme is about empowering to make a positive change and gives recipient an opportunity to make a difference/an impact, get paid to volunteer and learn about themselves. Application open from May 1st, 2010
