SMS Reminders for Rheumatic Heart Disease Patients Saves Lives and $$!
One of our challenges has been finding valid ways to use our technology to deliver social benefits in the areas of Finance, Markets, Education and Health Services.
Vodafone Fiji announced in May that as a result of cues from other OpCo's and leveraging off of Vodafone Group Foundation's funding of the The Pacific RHD Control Programme through the Geneva-based World Heart Federation, around 30 local RHD sufferers began receiving txt reminders from Vodafone about their B Penicillin shots. The number of patients this free service will touch will increase as the Suva based programme gets more mobile numbers from patients.
These simple messages serve to remind patients that their potentially life-saving shots are due.
