Troubleshooting Guide

 
If you don’t see your USB FlashNet in the list of devices
  • Remove the USB FlashNet
  • Re-start your computer
  • Re-insert the USB FlashNet.
If no Network can be found
  • Change your physical location: in a building, move closer to a window where there maybe better reception
  • (Windows) Select ‘View/View Available Mobile Connections’ and see if you can connect to a particular Network in the list shown
  • Contact Vodafone Customer Care or Support, and check that data services are enabled on your account.
If no connection can be opened
  • Wait a few minutes and try to connect again. This is most often a temporary problem, especially if an ‘Error 31’ or ‘Error 619’ is referenced
  • Select ‘File/Exit’ to exit the Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite software completely, and then re-start it again
  • Re-start your computer
  • (Windows) Click ‘Manage Connections’ and select a different Network Preference in the drop-down menu in the Mobile Connections panel, eg. ‘3G Only‘
  • (Mac) Start the Vodafone Mobile Connect software, and select one of the other options in the lower part of the main window, eg. ‘3G Only‘
  • If you are using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), contact your company IT administrator.

If the connection keeps switching between GPRS and 3G

  • (Windows) Click ‘Manage Connections’ and select a different Network Preference in the drop-down menu in the Mobile Connections panel, eg. ‘3G Only’
  • (Mac) Start Vodafone Mobile Connect, and select one of the other options in the lower part of the main window
  • Switch back to your normal preference when you move locations.

When I try to connect on the FlashNet dashboard, it displays “Modem not found” why

  • At this time, the operating system may not have successfully detected the drivers for the FlashNet modem. Please disconnect and reconnect the FlashNet and try again, the Operating System will automatically detect and should recognize the FlashNet modem hardware, else restart your PC and plug the device back.

What shall I do if I cannot access Internet?

  • Be sure that the FlashNet data SIM is activated. You may check with Vodafone.
  • Click ‘connect’ to make connection to the Internet.

When I remove my FlashNet Modem from my operating system, I received the message”…cannot remove the hardware now…” why?

- Please close/exit from the dashboard first. If the problem persists, another application may be using or engaged with your USB Modem, please exit and restart your computer.

When I do a data connection, I receive a fail code 31?

  • Please try it again, this is a temporary failure.
Error or fail code 619?
  • The SIM card might not have data service provisioned.
  • APN error on the Network setting.
  • The FlashNet modem cannot receive any Network signal.
Error or fail code 629?
 
  • No SIM card in inserted into the USB FlashNet Modem.
  • The APN length is over 100 words.
  • Requires PIN code for SIM card.
Error or fail code 633?

  • The USB FlashNet Modem driver installed may be corrupted. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the FlashNet modem driver.
Error or fail code 651 or 777?
  • The SIM cards PUK is required.
Error or fail code 678?
  • The current Network is Circuit Switched only.
Error or fail code 680?
  • The FlashNet modem driver may be in conflict with other modem drives.
